Mottahedeh Famille Verte Finger Candle Holder

We are very pleased to offer this stunning Mottahedeh candle holder in the Famille Verte pattern. Adapted from an 18th century design from Emperor K'ang His dynasty, the pattern incorporates leaves, red berries and butterflies. The pattern has been produced since 1985 and is still in production today. However, we have been unable to find an example of the candle holder and believe it may have been retired at some point in the past.

It measures 5 3/8" across the bottom and is 3" tall. We find no chips or damage to the piece. The 'VA' denotes Vista Alegre. The back is marked "Metropolitan Museum of Art Mottahedeh 1824 Portugal" and a number 33.
