You Don't Have To Be Glass Crazy
But It Helps!

Genoese Covered Compote Eyewinker EAPG Dalzell Gilmore Leighton

We are pleased to offer this gorgeous Early American Pattern Glass covered compote in the Genoese pattern, AKA Cannon Ball or Eyewinker, made by Dalzell, Gilmore & Leighton. The year of production was 1889.

Our compote is crystal-clear and measures 11 3/8" tall with the cover in place. Uncovered, the compote measures 8 1/8" tall, 7" across and 4 1/2" across the foot.

The condition is good for a piece of 123-year-old glass. We find roughness on the lid rim in an area about 1 inch long; some sliver chips on two of the triangle-shaped points on the lid; a tiny chip on the compote rim; and an area of about 3/4 of an inch long on the stem that has multiple shallow chips. We note some cooling lines on the inside of the bowl, and some rubs on a few cannonball decorations.

The compote is heavy and weighs 4 1/2 pounds unpacked.
